HIS, EXCELLENCY MR. MSOVELLO, DC KONGWA DISTRICT, COMMENTING ON THE BEST WORK DONE AT SONGAMBELE MAARIFA CENTRE.

Kongwa district commissioner (Mr. Msovello ) visited Songambele maarifa centre to see the activities that  are conducted . He appreciated how the aims activities that are performed in Songambele Maarifa centre and commented “KAZI SAFI

He said that it is very good centre and emphasized ICT trainees, to utilize the centre for gaining more knowledge for their benefits. He added to say that Songambele community is very luck to have such Maarifa centre and if possible such centers could be disseminated in other rural areas.

CONGRADURATIONS, NEW SONGAMBELE MAARIFA CENTRE BOARD MEMBERS!!

For smooth operation of Songambele maarifa centre’s activities, a new board for governing the centre was formed from Songambele community.  Board members represent different groups including farmers, pastoralists, business men, government employee, disabled groups and youths.

Having high interest in improving Songambele Maarifa centre, every board member was happy and promised to fulfill his/her duties that were assigned . So far three committees of finance and administration, the consultative (farmers and pastoralists) and environmental, trainings and security committees were formed from the main board.

ADVISING COMMUNITY ON THE USE OF LAND HENCE RESOLVING THE CONFLICTS !

Building capacity of reading books in Maarifa library with an intention of acquiring knowledge to Songambele community and the neighboring communities is one of the activities done in Songambele Maarifa centre.
Mr. pearson read the book titled “UTEKELEZAJI WA SERA ZA ARDHI, MISITU NA UFUGAJI A NYUKI” at Songambele maarifa centre’s library where he gained more knowledge on implementing the land policy in the rural areas. He used the knowledge gained to instruct farmers and livestock keepers on how to use the land in proper way to minimize the conflicts.

Misunderstanding between the farmers and livestock keepers has been the common problem in East Africa and the world in general. Land use policy Education to community is essential to eradicate the problem.

SONGAMBELE FARMERS WITH NO DOUGHT ABOUT FARMING ACTIVITIES

Songambele farmers are very happy after being connected with Opportunity International through Songambele Maarifa Centre. Songambele Farmers are now practising what is called SHARE FARMING with Opportunity Internatinal the purpose of sharing being to allocate the risk in different ways.

This was possibe because of the presence of small groups of farmers whose source of formation was from Songambele Maarifa Centre. Small groups of farmers have been formed and registrerd to Songambele Maarifa Centre to simplify provision of services to farmers.

During the meeting between the field officer (Mr. Sadock), farmers and facilitators from Opportunity International , the field officer demontrated the role of Songambele Maarifa Centre to the farmers for their benefits.
